Truth

Maat: The Principle of Truth

_In Egyptian tradition the Goddess Maat symbolises the principle of truth and justice and divine order. These two, truth and justice operate under divine order and go hand in hand. Where there is truth there is justice, and where there is untruth there is likely to be injustice, with oppression and tyranny soon to follow. It stands to reason that truth is very desirable and that all good people would want truth in their lives. Yet strangely that is not so. Truth is becoming near extinct these days, maybe because we are living in Kali Yuga, the age of evil, in which according to the Vedas even the last virtue of man, truthfulness, is being slowly eroded. Or could it be that the lack of truth in individuals and society has something to do with our attitude towards truth?

The most distinguishing symbol of Maat is a feather. She wears it on her head like a crown. She also judges the dead by weighing their hearts against a feather. Only if their hearts are as light as a feather will they be allowed to pass into the afterlife. Do you think you would pass the test of Maat if you were to stand before her today? If you think you may fail then maybe it is time to have a good look at truthfulness and your handling of truth. The feather that Maat wears on her head is not just any feather but an ostrich feather. The ostrich is the animal most closely associated and often depicted with Maat.

What a strange synchronicity, that of all animals the ostrich, that is known for sticking its head in the sand and could be aptly named the totem of denial, is honoured by the Egyptian Goddess Maat who is known as the Goddess of Truth. She honours the ostrich by wearing its feather on her head. Generally the symbols that gods and goddesses are holding or wearing stand for their powers. In case of animal symbols these are frequently lower qualities that the gods have gained victory over and therefore can help their worshippers overcome. With this understanding the ostrich feather worn on the head of Maat takes on a completely different meaning. It shows that the Goddess Maat helps us overcome our lower (= animal) nature and the attitude (= head) of denial and not wanting to know (= ostrich). By placing the ostrich feather on her head Maat shows us the way to transforming our thinking and our attitudes so that we may be brave enough to face and strong enough to withstand the truth, and so that we may rise above the animal-man in us to man-man and finally god-man, becoming living embodiments of truth.

The Power of Truth

Truth is the power of God or Goddess, of the highest divinity. It is the energy of being in direct alignment with the divine. This is why there is such incredible power in truth. Virtually all spiritual traditions place emphasis on truth. For the practitioner of Yoga, for example Satya, truth, is one of the major requirements, coming immediately after the first requirement Ahimsa, which is non-violence. It is said that he who doesn't speak a single lie or falsehood for seven years will gain the power of command, that is, whatever he says shall come to pass! Such is the power of truth!

During illumination or Oneness you are directly aligned with the Creator, the Cosmic Consciousness, with God. In that state, there is no untruth. The truth about every being, people's intentions, what is in their hearts, etc is directly known to you. Even when coming out of the state of Oneness you remain aligned to truth. When I had this experience and in the weeks that followed I could not have lied to save my life. It was physically impossible! But the effect went further, while I remained in this elevated state everybody I got in contact with was forced to speak truth as well -- even against their will! This was very confusing and lead to some truly bizarre situations. I would ask an innocent question and people would answer with the truth they wouldn't even have admitted to themselves, then looked very embarrassed. One man, when asked what he really wanted from life actually said he wanted to be God, because God didn't do a good job and he could do it better! I was speechless when confronted with such ego, arrogance and godlessness!

When you are one with God there is truth and when you are being truthful you align yourself with God. Consequently there can be no spiritual growth without truthfulness. Once you understand that truth is being aligned with the divine and All-that-is, with the natural order of the universe, then you will understand why nothing prospers without truthfulness. Any country, organisation or individual that doesn't uphold truth is doomed to fall into corruption and ruin sooner or later.

Untruth is indeed a corruption of the soul, not just from a religious point of view, but telling lies actually hurts you and destroys your power to create your own reality! Every time you tell a lie your subconscious is listening. It soon figures out that your words and actions aren't matching and stops taking you serious! Your subconscious can be your greatest ally or your greatest foe. If you tell a lie often enough, your subconscious may act on it in a way not to your liking. For example, if you keep on lying about being sick so you don't have to work, you may really get sick and become incapable of doing any work at all.

But even if nothing dramatic seems to happen, you will lose your power to create your own reality through lying. For instance, you may instruct your subconscious: "I am opening up to abundance and prosperity" but your subconscious that has the power to manifest abundance for you won't be listening, as it takes your instruction for yet another lie. Sticking to truth does pay off. You will have the power of God on your side and the power of your subconscious mind as well. If you are truthful your word will have immense power while the word of a liar has no power whatsoever.
Picture

The Price of Lies

_Untruth always leads to power loss -- in yourself and others! Not only do you lose your power when you are telling lies, but you also become disempowered from being lied to and deceived! Whenever somebody tells you a lie they are attempting to manipulate you. And unless you see through the lie they will succeed in their deception and take your power. You lose power because you cannot make an informed choice when you are being lied to. Take as an example the unfaithful husband who has an affair but denies it when questioned by his wife. Had she known the truth she could have made an informed choice, such as to leave him. The unsuspecting victim of the lie always becomes disempowered. Untruth is one of the tools of manipulation and disempowerment.

When you transfer this onto a collective scale, it becomes plain to see how governments are disempowering the People. Politicians are compulsive liars and if we let them get away with it we give away all our power! No wonder that the majority of people feel totally powerless! What to do? If you have already been disempowered by being lied to and manipulated you have to take your power back from the liars and deceivers. We also need to sever our relationship to the liars. In case of politicians, they should immediately be fired if they have lied to the people even once or taken the people's money even once. Firing them would be an empowering action and an act of taking power back. But to avoid future disempowerment and being deceived again, you need to train your mind so that it can perceive the truth as it is, without the filter of limiting beliefs or ego.

The Age of Revealing

_Something truly amazing is happening to mankind. More and more people are waking up. The awakening is both to higher spiritual consciousness and also to the mass deception and harmful agenda of the Powers-That-Be. We have already entered the Age of Revealing, a time when many previously hidden things are coming to the surface. Just think back of the year 2009 which brought us revelations about the swine flu scam, man-made viruses, the side effects of vaccines and the secret contracts of pharma companies with governments. More and more people who used to believe in vaccinations are now questioning their effectiveness and safety – and rightfully so! And this is only the tip of the iceberg. Many more shocking truths about the nature of reality and consciousness, about our planet Earth and our solar system will be revealed in years to come. Things are not at all the way we were taught and told. But when the truth comes out, many will not be able to withstand it -- unless they begin to train their minds to be more flexible and more open to truth. Most likely we will see many people going insane, because they can't handle the truth, for truth is often stranger than fiction!
Picture

The Awakening

_The awakening that is going on globally is not just by coincidence, but it is consciousness itself or God/Goddess/All-that-is that is triggering the much needed awakening. The truth has a way of being revealed in the end. You cannot put a lid on it and keep it hidden forever. Sooner or later it will be revealed. On the long run it is so much easier to tell the truth than a lie. A lie needs constant maintenance and cover up to keep it going. The truth needs no effort, it simply is. Therefore the awakening of humanity to a deception of gigantic proportions that affects virtually every aspect of our lives is inevitable -- though it may be painful and hence there is much resistance and denial.

So many have already awoken to the truth and are fully aware of the agenda of the New World Order which is mass depopulation requiring the deaths of 95% of humanity, as engraved in stone on the Georgia Guidestones, the so called American Stonehenge. I urge you to research these topics (agenda 21 and New World Order, Georgia Guidestones, HAARP weapon, chemtrails). Youtube is a good place to start! Your very life depends on knowing the truth.

Only when you know the truth can you make an informed choice instead of being disempowered through lies and manipulation. Only when you know the truth can you take empowered and empowering action, which could save many lives including your own and your children’s lives. Taking action also means you are in charge of your destiny, instead of being a helpless victim of "fate". Is it better to close the eyes to truth as the ostrich does, or to courageously look it in the face? Be like lions not like mice, my friends! Remember who you are and pray every day to see the truth and to be able to withstand the truth!

The cosmic tide is going with truth and will sweep away all lies and break the dams of denial. It would be wise to go with the flow, not try to swim against the current. The awakening is happening, and is unstoppable. The question is: will it be fast enough and will it be enough? If it isn't, there will be massive loss of life, terrible suffering and likely man-made cataclysm -- all of which could easily be avoided if only we could face the truth and then act according to truth! To be truthful means your thoughts, words and actions have to be aligned. If you know what needs to be done but you aren’t doing it then you are not truthful, you are not living in truth.

The Sleepers Who Won't Be Woken

_Those who are fully awake and know what is going on are trying desperately to wake up the rest of humanity so that united we can avert the catastrophe and cataclysm and create a world of peace and abundance for all. However, many in the truth movement are very discouraged because "the sheeple" as they call them, are just not waking up because they are so deep in denial. Some people can be shown undeniable evidence, yet they manage to deny the undeniable!

For example, a friend of mine was trying to enlighten her father on the dangers of fluoride. She told him that mono-sodium fluoride (which we take in through our toothpaste, drinking water, through vaccinations and many medications) is a mind control drug in the gulags, and a deadly poison as is evident by the fact that it is the main ingredient in all rat poison (read the labels, my friends!). The response of her father was: "So what? Apparently rat poison is very healthy for you. When it gets in the blood it actually protects your body!"

Shockingly this ignorant man actually is highly educated. This is a typical example of brainwashed sheeple and ostrich mentality.

The Torch of Truth

_For a long time I was puzzled as to why people do not want to know the truth. When I was in my late teens, my best friend once asked me whether I would want to know the truth if I had a fatal disease. Would I want the doctor to tell me that I was going to die soon or rather not know it. I immediately replied I would definitely want to know. I would in fact have been very angry for not being told the truth -- after all it is my life. And I couldn’t understand at all why my friend said she would rather not know. That thought was totally alien to my mind. I always preferred the bitter truth to pleasant lies.

Apparently not many people think the way I do. We are having an epidemic of lies, deception and untruth in our society, in families and individuals. Many have accepted this state of affairs as "unavoidable" or even as a necessary evil. But untruth can never bring any blessing. The individual's untruthfulness, denial and fear of truth is reflected in society as a whole. It is a terrible disease, a cancer that eats at the heart of mankind and breeds corruption. Fortunately this disease can easily be cured, once you shine the light of truth on people, corporations and governments, and most importantly, once you take off the blinkers that blind you to truth!

Once you do this you will see how you have been manipulated and you will then understand what hinders others from seeing the truth. If you want to awaken others, make sure you yourself are looking at the truth from all angles and aren't biased or in denial on certain aspects of the problem. It is my hope that this article will serve as a "blinker removal course" and maybe as a torch of truth that helps you see more clearly enabling you to gently but firmly wake up other sleepers.

Mind Control

_So what is it that keeps people unable or unwilling to see the truth? Some say that it is simply cowardice or stupidity that makes people unwilling or unable to see the truth. But I do not believe people are born stupid and cowardly. Something happens to them along the way. They get disempowered, brainwashed and programmed and fed with propaganda and lies from so many sources that they simply lose their way. They are under mind control, hypnotised, you may say, and have lost the ability to discern and to look at information with a clear and cool mind.

This article is an attempt to help people undo that conditioning again, so they can use their god-given brains to save their god-given lives – because this is how serious it is: if people do not wake up, they will be destroyed by the New World Order. No, it is not a conspiracy theory, it is a conspiracy fact. The very fact that you call any conspiracy a conspiracy theory shows you have been brainwashed. Conspiracies do exist. There have been many documented conspiracies throughout history. Often the intended victims were warned and got away, because they listened to the warning. They would have been fools indeed to laugh and call a warning of an assassination a "conspiracy theory".

The ridicule of the media of anybody who speaks of a conspiracy or anything that remotely sounds like one, is a propaganda tool to make you feel ashamed to look deeper into the matter -- for fear you could be called a conspiracy theorist -- in other words a nut case. Start looking, you will be amazed what you find. (Check out these great videos by Max Igan to start you on your journey: The Calling, The Awakening.)

From what I have observed I believe mind control to be addictive. Once people are used to being taught what and how to think, be it by the media, by experts, by authorities etc, they give up responsibility for their own mind and any independent thinking. In many ways mind control is like alcoholism: It is an addiction and before it can be cured you have to admit that you have it. Only then you can do something about it. As with alcoholism breaking out of mind control is a longer process and takes constant vigilance so you don't fall back into it. But it can be done! As with alcoholism expect some withdrawal symptoms and pain. If you are having a hard time, it may help you to read my article on the healing crisis, which has useful strategies to manage emotional pain and mental turmoil!

The first step to breaking out of mind control is to admit to yourself you are under mind control, brainwashed or hypnotised. However, there is much resistance to admitting to being a victim of mind control. Coming out of mind control can be extremely painful. The reasons for this are mostly ego and attachment to cherished beliefs. Ego feels threatened by the idea that somebody else has control over your mind, a job that ego thinks should be reserved for ego alone. And, admitting to being mind controlled means that ego wasn’t clever enough to see through the deception. Ego cannot admit to being outsmarted. Therefore when you tell people they have been deceived they tend to get angry. This is just ego reacting, nothing more. Sometimes it is fear also. More about fear and ego below.

Be prepared for rough waters when you embark on a voyage of truth because you are bound to learn that many of the beliefs you cherished were based on falsehood, misinformation and lies. This holds true even in the holiest of holies: our religious beliefs.

Cutting through the lies and disinfo with the sword of truth requires courage and a certain detached ruthlessness, a willingness to do away with your own holy cow, if need be, in service of truth.

Shortsightedness

_How many times have you heard people say: "it was right in front of my eyes, but I couldn't see it"? This is a typical example of something hidden in plain sight, a trick frequently used by the so called "Illuminati" (a cover word to conceal the true identity of the evil). It works really well. We need to learn to pay more attention to the things we see and hear every day and begin to ask ourselves why? Why do the media bombard us with messages of terror 24/7 when it is relatively peaceful in the country? Why do they talk about deadly viruses about to kill us all when hardly anybody gets sick? Why do certain symbols pop up everywhere? What is the agenda? Who benefits? You have to ask yourself these questions instead accepting things at face value. Here is a short video on symbols to Open Your Mind.

Keeping an open mind and curious attitude, like a child's will help. You probably know the story of the Emperor's New Clothes. In the story the emperor is deceived into thinking he wears fancy new clothes, but in fact he is naked. As he parades through the town stark naked, none of the citizens dare to admit that there are no clothes, only a child blurts out the truth. Children have less preconceived notions and more humility to allow things to be new. The child looks at things as new every time, while adults tend to look at them with a certain expectation, and that alone can make one blind to the truth, as the following story demonstrates:
Picture

Expectation

_I had received a crystal and unpacked it while talking to a friend on the phone. Suddenly three little glitter figures fell out of the package. I spontaneously exclaimed: "oh how cute, witches on brooms!" A few hours later I was talking to another friend on the phone. While we talked I absent-mindedly began to play with the little witch glitter icons, pushing them back and forth on the table and arranging them so they formed interesting patterns. After about five minutes of playing I noticed something odd about the "witches". They weren’t witches on brooms at all but angels with trumpets! The fact that I had looked at them twice that day, and even played with them for several minutes until I noticed they were angels, is quite telling. My mind is used to magickal archetypes, not Christian symbolism so I saw witches on brooms. There never were any witches on brooms, but I saw it with my own eyes – or thought I did. Why did this happen? Partially because both times I handled the glitter angels I was distracted. I was on the phone and not paying attention, engaged in an interesting conversation while being bombarded with electro-magnetic waves to my brain (from my cell phone). Also I feel this was the Goddess showing me how the mind works, because that day I had started writing this article and been reflecting on what keeps us from seeing reality as it really is! Great lesson, thank you Goddess!
Picture

Perspective

Often we are too involved in a matter to be objective and think clearly. That is why people sometimes go for an outside opinion. But outside advice is not reliable either. The best way of fixing the problem is to access your inner wisdom and for that to happen you need to gain perspective first. When you are standing right in front of a wall it seems endless. You can't see the upper end or any way around it. You will feel overwhelmed, helpless, small and powerless. Only when you step back can you get a good idea of the extent of the problem. The insurmountable wall becomes a minor obstacle. You can now make a plan how to get around or over it. You will feel in charge and empowered.

So, the next time if you feel overwhelmed by a problem, or if you get too emotional to think clearly, step back! Have a look at the problem through the eyes of an outsider by being the impartial witness to your actions and emotions. Forget for a moment your conditioning, religious beliefs, background, etc and look at it very calmly and detached. Quite often we can't see the truth, because we don't want to see the truth.
When you gain a broader perspective you are likely to see more clearly.
Picture

Left Brain Thinking

_Seeing the big picture is also helpful -- but apparently not easy! One wonders, why can the majority of people not see the forest for the trees? The answer is simple: left brain thinking! The Western education system has been designed to favour left brain function (which goes with being right handed). The left brain uses methodical thinking, but gets stuck in dogma easily. It is the logical part of the brain, likes order and is basically a bit of a control freak. It gets caught up in details but cannot see the big picture. Left brain is male and wants to dominate. Left brain is dogmatic, conservative and doesn't like change. It wants to be in control and have everything under control and in order. Left brain cannot think outside of the box.

The right brain on the other hand is creative and inventive. It sees patterns and recognises trends. It sees the whole forest, not just the tree. Right brain thinking is basically Oneness consciousness. The right brain is our female side, and connected to the much maligned left hand, the Goddess hand. Right brain has dreams, visions, fantasies, day dreams. Right brain favours sharing and collective consciousness. It is unconventional and wild, freedom loving, and mad genius sometimes. Right brain thinks outside of the box and sees the big picture.

To become less left brain controlled and access the immense knowledge of our right brain, we can do various things. If you are right handed, begin to use your left hand as much as possible. It will be clumsy at first, but as new synapses are formed you will gradually become adept. Ideally we should balance both hemispheres of the brain. This is also known in Yoga science as balancing the Ida and Pingala and the whole concept of Hatha Yoga is based on it. I am going to write an article on this on the Yoga Page eventually.

Another way of training the right brain is to engage in creative, meditative activities, such as music, dance, painting, dreaming, shamanic journeying, meditation, all forms of visualisation and magick. Intentionally doing things differently from how you normally do them can also be helpful to break you out of a left brain rut. Much of our energy is wasted in maintaining the status quo and therefore breaking through set patterns releases enormous amounts of creative energy and liberates the mind.
Picture

Rigid Mind

_The mind is indeed the source of most of our problems unless it is properly trained and brought under conscious control. The perfected, liberated mind is such a miracle! It can enable us to accomplish incredible feats. But the rigid mind can even be the cause of our destruction! Unfortunately we don't learn flexibility of mind in school. We are taught that a thing is either A or B, black or white and that is always so. Full stop. No exception. This makes it completely impossible for us to understand the mysteries of the universe, as these are beyond rational mind and conventional logic. To understand higher truths we need to be able to embrace paradox. For example you could say God is male or God is female, and both would be true. You could also say God is both male and female or God is neither male or female. All these statements hold true, and the wise will know what I am speaking about while fools will argue endlessly about it. Tell this to an ordinary person and they think you are lying, confused or illogical -- possibly even insane. Because nowadays when you think outside of the box, so called experts (aka monkeys in suits) immediately diagnose you with a mental illness. It has been said that the wise man appears as insane to the fools, and fools believe themselves to be wise!

Whenever you are confronted with something that doesn’t fit into your belief system you have two options:

Option 1:    adjust your belief system to fit reality.
Option 2:    adjust reality to fit your belief system.

Option two is commonly known as denial. A flexible mind will choose option one, the inflexible mind will choose option two. You can see how nonsensical option two is, yet people do it all the time. When confronted with a truth or an aspect of reality that is too much to bear, the inflexible mind will usually go into total denial, or sometimes manifest total memory loss of the incident (repression). Of course this can happen during severe trauma also and I am not suggesting that anybody who experienced trauma and suffered memory loss has an inflexible mind. This is a protection mechanism of the mind. But there are people who go into this form of denial over relatively minor incidents. Here is one example:

This happened during a holiday when I was in my late teens and much less wise than I am now. Together with several friends and acquaintances I did a seance. Just for fun we thought... Among us was one young woman, let's call her Jane, who had very strong Christian beliefs and said she would only take part to prove to us that spirits don't exist. Two of us, including me had done this before, but this time things were going out of control. It ended up with one person being possessed by the spirit of a dead friend who had committed suicide, objects were flying through the air, candles were blowing out, etc. We managed to get the message of the earthbound spirit and close the session down in a good way. But everybody was scared afterwards. I was so afraid that I had one of the men accompany me to the bathroom in spite of my embarrassment! Two of the men slept in my room afterwards, together in one bed, and no, they weren't gay, but very scared. To tell the truth, I didn't sleep much as I felt things still around. That time I hadn't learned how to do a banishing ritual yet -- big mistake!

While all of us were over it the next day, and thought it had been quite an experience, Jane was pale and quiet. The whole group met up again about half a year later in a friend's house. We soon started to talk about all the things that happened on that holiday -- including the seance. Jane was also present, and she said none of this had ever happened. At one point she ran out of the room. My friends told me that after the incident she had to spend several months in a nunnery where the nuns convinced her none of this had ever happened and that spirits don't exist! They warned me not to contradict Jane or she may snap! So I kept quiet.

When people cannot face the truth or refuse to face it and have no avenue of escape from it by denial they may crack up -- like Jane. Which brings us to the last option, one which I don't recommend:

Option 3:     go insane (temporarily or permanently)

As mentioned above, we are now in the Age of Awakening and the Age of Revealing. Some of the truths being revealed will be in total contradiction to what people believe to be "real". There will be shocking revelations in the fields of science, religion, spirituality, health, space, general physicality and the nature of reality. When faced with these revelations many people may go insane -- just because their minds aren't flexible enough to accept the truth and adjust to reality. Many others will be deceived and fall into the clutches of a scientific dictatorship that uses hi-tech mind control on the population. Only those who are discerning and have true spirituality or direct connection to the Divine can escape that trap. In the end all the lies will be revealed, and the light of truth will shine on all the corruption showing it for what it is, in all its ugliness. We are in for some very challenging times. But if we uphold truth, and act with integrity we can get through them.

Cultivate a flexible mind now before it is too late and learn from the bamboo: when the storm comes the bamboo bends, and when the storm is over it will bounce back again. But the mighty oak will not bend, and so it gets uprooted and broken by the storm. Let your minds be like the flexible bamboo not like the rigid oak, my friends!

Limiting Belief Systems

_People are very much influenced by their beliefs. Our beliefs are the filters we perceive reality through. Everybody’s filters are slightly different, showing us a different frequency range of reality. Beliefs can be like the famous rose-tinted glasses that we wear or they may be tinted a dreary grey. Beyond our filtering system is reality as it really is. But we are only accessing the part of reality that is in tune and within the frequency range of our filters. Therefore we cannot see the truth as it is. In some people this goes so far that when they encounter something that is contrary to their belief system they will physically not see it, even if it be right in front of their eyes. This is wonderfully demonstrated by the following story:

According to the story, when Magellan's ship landed in America, most of the Natives standing on the shore couldn’t see the ship. They saw the little boats with men in them but not the ship! In their world such huge ships didn’t exist. The ship was not part of their belief system, therefore they couldn’t see it at all. Only the shaman could see the ship -- probably because as a shaman his mind was more flexible and open to other realities. He pointed the ship out to his tribal members but they couldn’t see it! The way he finally got them to see the ship was to point out individual details and compare them to things they already knew, such as there is something long like a tall tree with a cloth tied to the top (the mast and the flag). The above story is a great example how your beliefs filter what you see.
Picture

Fear of Change

_The reasons why people refuse to adjust their belief systems to reality are manifold. A very common reason is fear of change. If reality is not what you thought then your house of cards of cherished beliefs comes tumbling down. You have to revise your reality. Things aren't stable and under control any more. You are in uncharted territory. Fear of change and fear of the unknown go together. What a pity that we cannot embrace change with a sense of excitement any more! Again this is a left brain problem, because the left brain loves routine and feels threatened when things are not in their normal order. But it is more than that. Let's face it, it's a form of cowardice which leads to being a control freak. What makes us so cowardly and so intent on controlling things? Lack of faith!

If you know the universe is friendly, the majority of people are good people, and have faith in yourself you will be a new wo/man. But we are being fed with fear daily! We hear about evil terrorists, evil aliens, extremist, dangerous diseases, etc in the media day in day out. Sometimes it seems every second word is either terror or danger. The real terrorists are the fearmongers in our governments and the media!

I met a Jewish woman once who told me that all animals were dangerous and evil. When I replied certainly that didn't hold true for little song birds, she insisted those were dangerous too. The poor woman was so locked in fear she was afraid of walking on grass!

I on the other hand have always felt very connected to the animal kingdom. I love animals so I never think they could hurt me. I have done things you might call reckless, but they always turned out well. Once I hand-fed a wild raccoon. I thought the raccoon and I had great communication. It even touched me with its little paws, but did me no harm. Later I was told it was a dangerous wild animal and could have done me terrible harm. It never occurred to me that it might though I did see its sharp claws.

Another time in the USA a rattlesnake crossed the road in front of our car. My partner braked and out I flew with my old-fashioned manual camera in hand, squatting on the ground before the rattlesnake less than a meter away from it to get a picture. It took me ages to aim the camera and the snake kept slithering, so I followed it until it finally disappeared in the tall grasses. I ignored my partner who casually called from the safety of the car that this was a venomous snake and may bite. Of course I knew it was venomous, but believe it or not, I knew it wouldn't bite me, as I was in rapport with it. The snake didn't shake its rattle nor did it show any sign of stress. When it disappeared in the bushes I had enough sense not to follow it off road and traipse around in the tall grasses.

To me the universe is friendly. I believe in the good in people, and that all beings are my brothers and sisters. Meeting the rattlesnake to me was a wondrous encounter and a blessing!

The ultimate faith you need to have to be able to embrace change is faith in the divine. That can be faith in God, in any religion, Paganism, faith in the Goddess, the old Gods, ancestral spirits, or in Great Spirit or just faith in the universe if you have an aversion to religion. But build up some faith, you will need it, because change is coming our way, big change, and you need a connection to something higher to get you through the challenging times we are facing. When change comes upon you, remember to embrace it fearlessly and with faith. What is the worst case scenario? Surely death, for most people. But your soul is eternal it cannot be destroyed, and death is but an illusion. The journey goes on, even after death. So relax and embrace change!

Emotional Immaturity

_When confronted with an unpleasant truth, and the possibility of having to change their world view or beliefs, many people immediately react with fear or anger. It is amazing how easily they can get triggered to violent anger. Messengers of unpleasant news had a way of being killed by tyrants in the old times -- and maybe nowadays too. The truth doesn't go away by killing the messenger and whatever is going to happen will happen, regardless of you sticking your head in the sand like the proverbial ostrich. Don't kill the messenger, have a look at the message and keep your cool, is my advice.

What is it with people exploding at the drop of a hat? I have lived in several countries in my life, in the East and the West and on the black continent. In the Far East people were more reserved and controlled, but in Western countries and even more so in Africa I have observed  people resorting to vulgar speech or brutal physical violence without any provocation. People go into road rage over their priority being taken, or somebody taking their parking lot. Others are near murdering you because you laughed about something they said or did. When I look at these incidents I see a pattern emerging: most people have the emotional maturity of four year olds and frequently go into childish tantrums typical for small children who have been spoilt rotten by their parents.

In the above story of the shaman who pointed out the ship to his tribesmen, the tribesmen actually listened. If in our society you tell people something they may not like, or that they don't believe in, you have to fear for your safety. Had the Native Americans in said story been anything like modern "civilised" man, they would probably have beaten up the shaman or burned him at a stake or crucified him. Modern man is proud of his education and intelligence, but sadly is an emotional dwarf who lacks the courage to look at scary things, the wisdom to listen, and the respect to accept other opinions.

It is time to grow up emotionally, and that means observing our emotions as the witness of all mental modifications, as taught in Yoga science, for example. We can learn a few things from the East, humility being one of them. We can also learn a few things from the Native Americans. A friend who lived with a Native American tribe told me that among the Native Americans a man who got enraged was deemed to be possessed by bad spirits. He had to go away, dig a hole and stick his head in, until his foul temper had subsided. A very commendable practice, in my opinion! I guess once you have done this a few times you learn to control your temper without having to resort to the hole method.

Shamanic and tribal cultures usually had coming-of-age ceremonies that made a boy into a man or a girl into a woman. We don't have any meaningful ceremonies of that kind in modern western culture any more, hence many people though old aren't wise nor even mature of character. Where are our wise and dignified elders? There are a few, but not many. The majority could be aptly described as aged teenagers.

A large part of the problem is the pharma-industry. There is a pill for every unwanted emotion. If you are upset or nervous, pop in a tranquillizer. If you are sad, take mood altering drugs! Somebody died and you feel grief or depression? Anti-depressants will make you forget all about it. In shock? Take a sedative. Even the children are sedated nowadays. All this pill popping is turning us into a nation of wimps and zombies.

There is nothing wrong with natural emotion. Even grief and depression are there for a reason. Depression is a cry for help from the soul, and often the first phase of spiritual awakening. Hinduism has a scripture called The Dejection of Rama. Luckily Rama didn't live in our times or his family would have put him on Prozac or similar. He got over his "depression" when he realised the truth. Another much maligned emotion is grief. Admittedly, it doesn't feel nice, but grief actually helps us to heal after great loss. The way to deal with emotions is to embrace and observe them, knowing you, the spirit soul who is eternal and ever blissful is beyond the emotion. You are not angry, you feel angry. So do not identify with the emotion, but feel it fully and observe!

Any emotion when embraced will run its course and lead to another emotion eventually returning you to your original emotion which is enthusiasm. Have you noticed that enthusiasm is becoming extinct? That is because we don't embrace emotion any more and numb out with drugs, both prescription and recreational drugs. As a society and as individuals we have to strive to embrace our emotions and allow others to be emotional as well. We are emotional beings and there is great power in our emotional energy. If you want to return to Oneness all things have to be embraced, and that begins by embracing and mastering your emotions!

Arrogance and Ego

_I kept the worst for last. Ego and arrogance are on the top of the list why people won't face the truth. We have been trained to worship experts, giving our authority and our power away. Put somebody in a white coat and let them give some silly instructions, and people will actually do it, no matter how ludicrous. This hero worship of doctors, scientists and academics has led to much pride and arrogance in the ones who hold such titles. I have found in recent months that people of very low IQ are "getting it", while the learned aren't. What is going on? Like my friend's educated father who believed that rat poison is good for you, the educated won't listen to somebody less educated than them, less intelligent than them or somebody who has no money, no job or no status. When your neighbour comes running and shouts, "fire, fire! Your house is on fire!" do you ask him whether he has a degree, or what qualification he has to say there is a fire? No, you go check and take action!

Why can't we listen to another human being and see a human being instead of an unemployed man, a dumb guy etc? And why do we judge information coming from a non-expert automatically as false? Why do we not even bother to check it out for ourselves, research, investigate, especially if the implication of the unpleasant truth could be far reaching? The answer is arrogance, pride and ego. Thinking we know it better, thinking we are better, is ego. Pride of learning and pride of wealth etc. is a spiritual disease and makes a man arrogant, heartless and foolish.

Remember we all carry the divine spark in us. The most humble person on earth is no less divine than you. If you listen with your heart, to all people, you will hear much and learn much. Many times a child will speak profound wisdom, and even a fool may be wise. It is time to put the ego and arrogance aside and listen, to our brothers and sisters, be they old or young, white or black, or brown, learned or uneducated. Life is the great teacher and God / Goddess works and speaks through all. God can appear to you in the form of a beggar, as Lord Shiva is said to frequently do, and pass an important message on.

_The truth is out there for all who want to hear it, for all who truly seek it.
May truth prevail!
